soon it will be over
so today we had a big meeting with guidance counselors meant to scare us all into productivity. well, it came too late, as my competitive spirit had flared up a few days before- the true cause of any motivation. short story: early apps due by oct 11, regular by nov 14.
this is bad in several ways:
1) i can't procrastinate
2) i can't save all my regulars until after i hear from my early
3) i have to fill out 12 paper apps and bother a lot of teachers
4) i can't procrastinate
so how many of us are reusing our tasp app essays? i hadn't planned to, but as i keep pumping out terrible essays, i realize that the tasp app one is one of the only honest essays i have on me.
so the stress is on, but i feel like i could deal with it if it weren't for psych stuff. bc my psych teachers just such a bitch, and manages to make me feel like an idiot whenever i meet with her. but you know what? college apps are more important, and even if she fails me this semester, i just can't bring myself to care.
gracie i need you to crack my back!
well lee you're good at it too, but too brutal for my tastes.
let's just pretend we're back in muggy st louis (speaking of which- whenever i meet someone now that wants to go to wash u i feel this little tinge of recognition. also, you know how they said they'd waive our fee? how do we go about activating that or whatnot?)

Ach, Amy.
Lordie Me. This is all so true.
I thought that it would
all be joyous and that this
process (DREADED PROCESS!) would
be the final reckoning of all elements of my person that cannot function in the high school building. Alas! What is it that drives me to fear these supposedly wonderful places? As horrible as it is, I want to think of nothing but that: "Soon it will be over."
Promises that everything will be okay. And it sounds so apocalyptic, but it is very true, and even the stillness of post-armageddon (will this be december for us?) seems so much more desirable than the chaos caused by thirteen plus unblinking and unsullied applications.
But you will be fine, you will be.
And they will love you. They couldn't not. Sometimes I wonder about all of this and the thirty minutes they spend with the textual object of our souls, and it seems so silly. I wish that we could all reccommend each other. Because The Colleges have to love us. All of us. They couldn't not.
Couldn't.
I must keep saying this.
Almost-October is no time
for sloth, and no time for
fright.
Courage, TASPers.
We are valiant & eccentric, remember?
Lovelovelove.
david i can't believe you said doggone. michiganer. and ellen, i hate your guidance department!
