...because there are no excuses not to. Not even the "I don't get ESPN2" excuse. Find the Mexican channel and watch that. The announcers are so much more lively anyways.
This has got to be one of the coolest commercials I've seen. Save it to your computer and watch it:
Airport Soccer
It's funny that Brazil is such a strong favorite yet everyone still loves them. Usually favorites are despised by a good segment of the population (see "Yankees") but nobody hates Brazil. I think it has to do with the fact that their style is so unique and fluid.
So yeah--tomorrow is USA vs. Italy. I'm definitely watching every second of that one. I won't be surprised if the US loses, though. Actually, I sort of want them to lose. Our superiority complex (which is mostly justified) is getting annoying. I think it'd be both funny and awesome if Ghana kicked our ass.
I'm not a very good patriot. But here are my picks for the final four:
1) Argentina
2) Brazil
3) Czech Republic
4) Germany
...although I haven't seen Italy play yet. We'll figure it out by tomorrow.
EDIT: Czech Republic vs. Ghana, 0:2. Shit. This was not supposed to happen. :P

The second yellow card on Pope was completely deserved. Even the ABC announcers said (during the first half) that if Pope kept committing fouls he would get smacked down with another one. And he did, except in the second half.
And leave it up to the ABC commentators to incite the entire US A to blame the ref. Oh well, I guess it can't be avoided. We blamed the refs when the Seahawks lost the Superbowl. If you were pissed off with this game, you should've seen France vs. Switzerland.
