In Praise of Large Universities...
Salutations from the Fallowlands!
A new longitudinal study has shown that Ohio is really not quite so bad...

I now have a romantic lecture date secured for an otherwise wistful Wednesday evening! Huzzah, OSU--you are good for something other than two-hour long essay examinations for incoming freshman in need of merit aid, car-tipping football-drunk student riots, and classes on the glory of gangsta rap, after all!
However, I have not read Vonnegut in at least two years, and even if I could carry myself back to the glory of being exposed to blithering wonderful satire for the first time, the canon-o-Kurt that currently rests on my bookshelves is quite minimal. What should I make sure that I read before Wednesday, in order to fully enjoy this rather exciting opportunity?
Love Always,
The Central Ohioan
Post-Script: Michael and/or Train & Trolley Lovers! Columbus is thinking about developing a light-rail/trolley system! I am excited beyond belief, and if you are as well, I would suggest that you bombard Mayor Coleman with facsimile copies of your TASP Final Research Paper on the viability of light rail--that is, if and only if light rail lines actually augment city living. The article quoted several studies done on new lines set up in Raleigh and several other comparably-sized (I assume) U.S. cities, and de facto ridership both tripled the city council's expectations, and was not detrimental to bus ridership.
