bye for a week or so

everyone, i'm abandoning you for a week to go skiing. don't be too crazy or anything, or update too frequently, since i'll have to catch up on this instead of doing my hw frantically on sunday.

also, really, really make an effort to go to the opera.

i went to two yesterday- aida first and rigoletto. for aida i had good seats, but bc of rigoletto's popularity, i could only get nosebleed seats. nevertheless, the sound was incredibly good. and i saw placido domingo! he's real! he exists! he's the greatest guy ever! (also, opera glasses, aka binoculars, are so cool. during intermission i would just watch people. um, no that's not creepy)

oh, and andrei, i was at a place called "le pain quotidien" where all the waiters were geniunely french and i thought of all you tasp-french speakers.
