i am riotously happy

i just feel as if i haven't posted in a while, gotten in touch with the non-aimers (tsk tsk).

anyway, am i the only one that loves the olympics? just listening to that overpompous nbc jingle makes me feel really really really really happy. so happy. i could watch the olympics for 24 hours a day without getting bored (and that includes skeleton and curling and even hockey).

ski jumping is like flying.

and i love how in the speedskating it looks as if they're going slowly because you only see them going in motion relative to each other, but really they're traveling so fast.

life's uneventful, i just sit around and read (nisha, you should read the inheritance of loss by kiran desai, it's incredible, actually, everyone should read it. go, git to it)

as for the blizzard, had i gone to the tasp reading, apparently i would not have been able to come home today, as the train lines have been shut down. but i still wish i COULD have gone. if the snow had come a day later i wouldn't have had to go to school, blargh, mutter mutter, groan.

oh, also, i've started driving and i am the worst driver in the world. bar none.

the snow is really very beautiful though, everything is frosted over and tufted in snow and you look into the sky and it's very gray and everything is very quiet. it's a kind of calm i haven't experienced for a while.
