first day for me too...

so yeah, as the title says, i was off on my merry way to school today. my bus was 15 minutes late, which of course, caused much distress on my part.

first period, my teacher hands out a form that states explicitly "I am to be addressed as Mr. Coggin or Mr. Coggs. Please do not call my name without the proper title preceding it."
third period we read sonnets, hooray. i am the only one in class that knows what those unstress/stress marks stand for over the iambs.
double period physics. we learn that rule of thumb comes from some old rule where you can't beat your wife with a pole wider than a thumb. then i am mildly embarrassed as i get an f- on the safety quiz.
double period ap calc bc is bad. don't take it. we are given a four page testimonial from former students which reads "i thought that bc stood for Bitch of a Course, but it really stood for Bildungsroman of Calculation!" and "when exchanging programs on your TI-83, practice safe linking!" and "if you DO NOT HAVE INNATE MATHEMATICAL TALENT AND ARE LAZY, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS" All in all, it came off like some pamphlet for the latest diet craze.
next, i tried to explain to my class what tasp was, and floundered for words. partly because i was talking in spanish.

i miss all of you and the stress-free environment of tasp. i miss having people around who care more about thinking, reading and learning than they do about gpas and college resumes. i miss people that care, period, because i live in a horribly apathetic town where not caring isn't cool, its just the norm.

im avoiding ap calc hw, ap physics hw, ap lit hw, and ap govt hw by blogging to you. punish me.
