Pictures + stuff

2 pictures from the second day of Michael's visit when I actually bothered to lug my camera bag up Mt. Rainier plus 1 bonus original cartoon. Actually, it's not really a cartoon--it's a hell of a lot better than that crap they run in the New Yorker, though.

This is halfway up to the visitors' center. In the background is the south face of Mt. Rainier--that's where we're headed. We are squinting because the sun is shining directly into our faces.

Elevation 6500'. Going on would've required us to cross an icy snowbank where there was nothing to prevent us from falling a few thousand feet if we slipped. We didn't go on.

Michael's an artistic genius! http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/pranks/bonsai.html

In other news, I've discovered that Swarthmore has a strange October study break. What do your guys' break schedules look like? Here's mine:

Oct. 14-22
Nov. 23-26
Dec. 22-Jan. 21
Mar. 10-18
