weekend update
I am on the second-to-last of my applications--Chicago. After that, Whitman is due, but not until Jan. 15th, so it doesn't really count. Something about Chicago makes me want to send them a bunch of random stuff, like a CD of the music I wrote about, or some other things.
Ah well. Not much has been going on. We had knowledge bowl today, that was interesting. It was on the campus of Evergreen State College, so we saw a fair share of rastafarians and dreadlocks-sporting hippies. I thought I caught a slight whiff of pot?
I thought of TASP yesterday when I was at the library. Our local branch has a small bookshelf where they pile all the stuff that they have extras of (or that they don't want for any reason) books/magazines/CDs etc. I scored 50 perfectly fine looking issues of National Geographic plus a few extra issues--that totally reminded me of the downstairs library and how I used to raid it for old issues and pile them in my room. Especially, there was one issue that I passed about Soybeans that I distinctly remember.
I'm not too hyped up about this Yale thing. Something about going online, seeing "rejected" or "accepted" or "deferred" or whatever the hell it says, and being happy or sad seems a little weird. I still imagine that I'll see the decision on the on-line notification and just sorta go "Hmm. Allright." and then walk away. :P That's not saying that I won't be happy or sad when it actually does comes around, though. 5 more days?
I feel like Danforth. Album of the hour: Cafe Montmartre - Stan Getz.
edit: I found these headlines via google news. They both make me want to buy some hamsters...
