In Honour of All Hallow's Eve (Whene'er It May Be!)

Fellow Corbusians,

I think that you know what this is.
Hands over your bleeding ears, and cower in the nearest pumpkin patch!
The night of all souls is approaching, and it seems that the dead are in need
of some resounding and perpetually resurfacing theme song.

THUS & THUSLY--!:

(Looksee! Unanticipated bouts of boldness!
This has been long-promised and much-advertised,
and is just as silly and organpopping as one might be moved to expect!
Ach, but it is laden with memories. So many encores. Eternities of reprise.
And harmony! How I miss authentic harmony!)

Everything is mad across these winding plains of Ohio--the first frost descended halfway two nights ago and still hangs on the weary turf this morning, and all of the goddamned leaves are loosing themselves and making melancholy noise everywhere. My family no long believes in maples; only pin-oaks in their stuffy stoic glory.

BUT! I think that you should have this if you want it, and if you don't want it, tell me how terrible it is (O, Adam?) so that I can go through with launching my banjo from some window (or silo. or barn-loft. ahem.) and take up Somalian dancing instead.

I miss you all terribly, and very much mean it.
I am having to enforce extremely strident mental
barriers to keep myself from thinking of Saint Louis
and how bizarre it all was ("VERTICAL STORAGE SPACE!")
and how strange/wonderful that we all are now bound to each other.
UNTIL THE END OF TIME. So much love!

And tell me that all is well and that all is not chaos?

With Love & Cold Fingers,
G-e-s-s-o .

Blogger goodbye, goodbye said...

Ohohohohohohmydarlings!

Do you think it would be a prudent step to send this old crooner to Ye Hallowed Colleges? I sound just like some dreadful pop star (echo-sy vocals and smoothness and all the rest of that canon that Bob Dylan would have spat at!), and if they can confuse the lyrics for meaningless sap, I just might have a chance at places like Swattie.

Ah, Telluride.
Still my heart.
I have Sarah-Emily photographs lining my record player-face.
(Goodbye, Colin Meloy!)
Isn't it grand?
I will send some terrible senior photographs of the side of my face/my right arm/left ankle veddyveddysoon, so that you, too can get your giggles and swoons in.
